Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to book in advance?
Yes, we would ask for a minimum 24 hours’ notice for our running tours.
If less notice is given, we will do our very best to arrange a tour for you.
Simply contact us to discuss.

Where do we meet?
Standard Dublin City Tours starting point is the Fusilier’s Arch. 
Phoeinix Park Tour starting point is the outside the Croppies Acre Memorial Park opposite the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks.
For the Early Bird and other tours the starting point will be advised in advance.
Our tour guide will be clearly branded and waiting at the stated location at least 10 minutes prior to the planned start of the tour.

Do our tours go ahead in all weathers?
Yes we run in all weathers – rain or shine (or snow). However, in very severe weather (to be determined by your guide) you will be offered to return at a later time or to postpone your tour for another day. We would ask that you turn up to your tour in any event.

How do I sign up for a tour?
To purchase tickets click the Book Now link. if you’ve just arrived in Dublin and would like to join a running tour or event at short notice (or for any special requests) please contact us.

Are discounts available?
Yes discounts are available for groups of 8 plus – please contact us directly and we can organise same.

Is there somewhere to store my belongings?
Our guides always carry a backpack and will be able to carry small items. Please bring your own backpack for larger items if needed. Our guides cannot be held responsible for any damage to your belongings or your belongings been lost or stolen.

Should I bring water with me?
Please feel free to carry a water bottle with you or some loose change. Our guides will always carry a small water bottle with them.

What pace do you run at?
Don’t worry we run at a very relaxed pace and have several stops along the way.

Can I take photos during the tour?
Of course you can at any time of your tour! Just let us know when you like to stop to take a photo. We also take photos of all our tours so don’t forget to smile! After the the tour we will upload the photos to Dropbox (to the cloud) and send you a link by email.

How will I know the guide?
You can easily spot our tour guides. We will wear a black Running Tours Ireland top & a backpack.

What languages are the tours in?
All our tours are held in English and may include the odd word of “Gaeilge” for good measure.

Are their age restrictions?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years of age to book a Running Tour. We do allow runners under 18 years but have to be accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian.
