PHOENIX PARK TOUR

Duration: ~120mins
Distance: ~12k

Our park run starts just outside the park at the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks. We then start the short run towards the Phoenix Park one of the largest enclosed city parks in Europe – taking in the Peoples Gardens, a beautiful oasis within the park and then on to the Wellington monument, the largest obelisk in Europe, on towards the furry glen via the Magazine Fort and a 4000-year-old burial site, the smallest dolmen in Ireland. Other attractions the park offers are Farmleigh house, the Irish official guest house, the American Ambassadors house, the Papal Cross and Áras an Uachtaráin, the house of the President of Ireland and we finish with a tea or a coffee at the home of a 600 year old castle  – we may even see some of the residents of the park – the famous herds of deer!

“Great local knowledge and stories about the history of Dublin. Wonderful way to see the city, mix of main walkways and back streets. Can’t wait for the next one!”
